An exceptional size #4 Shaker box with a Dragonfly
8.5” long x 6” wide x 3.25” tall.
The side oval band is made of maple.
The swallowtail fingers are individually hand-cut and secured with copper tacks made from 19th-century machines.
Marquetry techniques were used to create the dragonfly on an oak veneer. The bottom is signed “BBY 2024 maple oak’”
Boxes are first finished with beeswax, carnauba wax, orange oil, and then two protective coats of polyurethane
